Ready to Go Blue: Workshops for Developing Engaging
In-person, Remote, and Hybrid Courses

A Message for Instructors from James Hilton, Vice Provost for Academic Innovation
July 22, 2020

Following up on Provost Collin's July 7 email, I am pleased to share specifics about the Ready to Go Blue (R2GB) sessions.

R2GB provides online workshops, lightning talks, meetups and self-guided tutorials for faculty and instructors as they prepare for the combinations of in-person and online classes this fall. These offerings will be held on a rolling basis through September, so please encourage your faculty and GSIs to check back with the R2GB website regularly as they continue to prepare fall courses.

When people visit the site, they will see that there are four tracks:

  • Shared Stories – peer-led groups of faculty and instructors sharing experiences and pedagogical approaches to hybrid and online learning
  • Tools & Tech – each session highlights a specific tool or technology with strategies for effective use
  • Inclusive Pedagogy – strategies for creating more inclusive classrooms in various learning modalities & introduction to practices that inform hybrid and online courses
  • Fundamentals for Fall – overview of the basics and specific skills needed during these challenging times

I’d like to thank the members of the VPAI Response and Recovery team and the Teaching and
Technology Collaborative (TTC) for their work and collaboration as they sponsor these sessions and bring together timely and creative programming.
