In 2005, the Provost’s Council on Student Honors modified the Rhodes, Marshall, and Mitchell application process at U-M, instituting a phased approach. Phase 1 materials (two faculty recommendations, transcripts, résumé, and personal statement) must be submitted to the Office of the Provost, 3084 Fleming Administration Building, by 4:00 p.m. on the last Friday in March. Campus interviews will take place April 14 and 15, 2008. Applicants who are endorsed by the University will prepare formal application packets for the fall, including a 1,000-word personal statement due August 1. It is very important to begin discussing letters of recommendation with faculty members before the end of Winter Term.
