    TEACHING & LEARNING

In schools, colleges, departments, and programs, Michigan’s faculty are engaged in ongoing reflection and discussion about ways to improve curricula at all levels. Curricular evaluation and planning are among the most important tasks for faculty, and among the primary responsibilities of deans and chairs. Through such continual endeavors, the University demonstrates the highest level of commitment to building excellence in education that is a cornerstone of its mission.

During the past decade, faculty-driven examinations of curricula have led to many renovations and improvements. Some of these efforts have been quite far-reaching and demonstrate Michigan’s vanguard position in developing new standards of excellence in higher education. The following instances reflect this ongoing attention to learning programs that take place throughout the University.
