    CRITERION 3: "THE INSTITUTION IS ACCCOMPLISHING ITS EDUCATIONAL AND OTHER PURPOSES"

    Through the excellence of the programs and resources of its schools, colleges, and divisions, the University of Michigan fulfills its mission and achieves its purposes in excellence and leadership in research, teaching, and service. The schools, colleges, and divisions of the University maintain undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs that demonstrate the highest levels of accomplishment and commitment to the institution’s goals. Across the University, units examine the effectiveness of learning and teaching, and gather information in order to strengthen further programs of instruction. The University and the academic units maintain the highest standards of excellence and provide ongoing support for the development of faculty, staff, and administrators so that these may be achieved. As well, the University maintains a comprehensive range of services for students and staff that contribute to the effectiveness of the institution and the accomplishment of its purposes.
