Eight schools and colleges at the University of Michigan are actively addressing environmental sustainability challenges through a wide range of research and academic programs. Due to the ever increasing importance of finding solutions to and preparing for a sustainable future, many of these schools already have environmentally themed studies integrated into their core curriculum. Additionally, environmental degree programs at both the graduate and undergraduate levels offer courses covering more specialized topics in greater depth. These courses can also be taken as electives to enrich the students’ academic experience, and several of these courses extend beyond traditional departmental boundaries.
A primary goal of the Graham Institute is to encourage these interdisciplinary ties and promote these academic opportunities.
