9.L Use of the University Seal, Block M, and Other Logos

Faculty and staff may use the UM seal and the University of Michigan name for any University-related purpose, including stationery, business cards, and posters. To ensure that use of the seal is limited to University-related purposes, faculty and staff are asked not to disseminate the seal in a form that could be downloaded electronically. Non-University groups such as companies that are recruiting on campus may use the seal on a one time basis after obtaining written permission from the Vice President and Secretary of the University, the official keeper of the seal. Student groups, as a general rule, do not use the seal.

The Block M and other University logos are registered trademarks and can be used only with the approval of the University. For details about obtaining approval, contact the Licensing Office of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics at 763-2425.
