21.A General PrinciplesThe University of Michigan consistently ranks as one of the top universities in the country. One reason for its reputation is its excellent array of resources. From its libraries and museums to its musical and theatrical productions and athletic events, the University offers a vibrant cultural and social life for everyone who lives, studies, and works here and for the thousands of visitors who come to Ann Arbor every year. This section of the Faculty Handbook provides a small sample of the Universitys remarkable wealth of resources. Although these resources are located in or near Ann Arbor, they are for the most part available to all members of the University community.
