If the policies are also sections of the Standard Practice Guide (SPG) they are available in section 601 of the SPG online at <spg.umich.edu>. All members of the University community, especially faculty, are encouraged to become familiar with these policies, ask questions, and help maintain an open community of responsible technology users. See also Chapter 1, “Fundamental Tenets of Membership in the University Community” and Section 20.C, “Copyright.”

Faculty can direct questions about the Guidelines for Responsible Use and report possible violations of the Guidelines or of the Proper Use Policy to the User Advocate (<abuse@umich.edu> or 647-6396). Information and advice about handling security or misuse problems can also be found on the User Advocate website at <www.umich.edu/~itua/>.
