15.S Social Security/MedicareAll faculty and staff members are required to participate in the federal Social Security and Medicare programs, which provide retirement, disability, death, and health benefits. Each participant and the University contribute the percentage of salary on the Social Security earnings base in effect during a particular year as established by federal legislation.
