Arts Consortium

The University of Michigan Arts Consortium convened in fall 2010 to engage arts faculty, arts program directors, and arts presenters across campus in collaborative projects. The primary mission of the Arts Consortium is to significantly increase arts awareness and engagement, particularly among the 42,000 students on the Ann Arbor campus.

The Arts Consortium is convened by the Vice Provost for Academic Affairs-Graduate Studies. Consortium members represent the broad depth and diversity of arts on campus. Faculty from seven departments within three Schools and Colleges and directors from 12 presenters and programs gather monthly to raise awareness of and increase access to the arts for students, faculty, staff and the greater Ann Arbor community. Members share the fundamental belief that the arts are an integral component of the overall mission of the academy and contribute to the transformative nature of the university experience.
